Our commitment
At Cidade Velha Diving, the ocean is our workplace and our passion. But caring for the sea does not stop at the waterline. The beach is where the village meets the Atlantic — and it deserves the same respect we ask of every diver underwater.
We organize regular beach and seabed cleanups because we believe this coastline should stay as wild and beautiful as the day we fell in love with Cape Verde. Not untouched by time, but cared for — by us, with the people who call this place home.
These events are not marketing. They are part of who we are: a dive centre rooted in Cidade Velha, committed to the environment and to the wellbeing of the community around us. A cleaner shore means a prouder village, healthier waters, and a better experience for everyone who visits.

How you can take part
Show up on the day, or message us beforehand so we know you're coming.
🌿 On the beach
Pick up litter along the sand and shoreline. Perfect for families, students, locals and visitors. All ages welcome — just bring energy and respect for the environment.
🤿 Under the water
Certified divers can help clean the seabed near the beach with our team. We only charge diving equipment rental — your tank fill is on us.
